The objective of this undergraduate research was to evaluate the feasibility of converting selected components of municipal solid waste (MSW) into biogas via anaerobic fermentation using fungi.

Using a laboratory-scale experimental setup, I studied the decomposition and fermentation behaviour of the waste fractions and characterised the biogas-production kinetics of the anaerobic digestion process.
